Wireless Printing Instructions

IET-Computer Lab Management allows you to print to our computer rooms from your laptop connected to the UC Davis Wireless Network.

Starting Winter 2024 we have a new printing system. If you've used our service before you will need to install the new software in order to print. Please see the instructions below to get started. You can safely remove the old ‘IET Wireless Printing’ printer and software.


Overview

  • Print from your laptop (Mac or PC only) or smartphone
  • B&W prints only. Color is not currently available
  • Cost is 11 cents per sheet of paper

Print to "B&W UC Davis Remote Print" and pick up your print at any of our current Wireless Printing locations:

Instructions

Install Software (if you haven't yet)

  1. Connect to the UC Davis Wireless Network.
  2. Download and install the software for your PC, Mac, iPhone or Android device.
    1. Android: Please use Google Chrome for the setup process.
    2. iPhone/iOS: After downloading, go to Settings: General > VPN & Device Management > PaperCut Mobility Print for iOS to finish the install.
  3. When prompted to logon, enter your Campus ID and password
    1. Mac Users: You must change your username to your campus ID.

If you're in a rush, you can also log into Wireless Printing and upload your PDF to our Web Print service.

Print your document

  1. Connect to the UC Davis Wireless Network.
  2. Select "B&W UC Davis Remote Print" as your printer.
  3. Print your document as normal, including single or double sided settings, number of copies, etc. Submitted print jobs must be for letter sized paper.
    1. Mac Users: If asked to login, you must change your username to your campus ID and use your campus password. Check the “Save Password” box to skip this step next time.
  4. You will receive an email confirming your print job was received.

Release your print jobs

There are three ways you can release your print jobs:
  • Log into Wireless Printing to view your print jobs and release them. Please make sure the location you select is open.
  • Scan the QR Code on one of our printers from your phone (You must be connected to the UC Davis Wireless Network.) No extra software is required.
  • Talk to a Computer Room Consultant (CRC) in one of our open access labs. They'll be happy to help.
